Potato Festival

September 5 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every day that begins at 10:00 am, repeating until September 5, 2022

Over one hundred years ago, on the banks of the Fraser River, Annie Huble grew acres and acres of potatoes which she sold to travelers passing through the area. Today that tradition continues at Huble Homestead, where you can learn all about the heirloom potato varieties grown on site, see the garden where they were produced, and purchase your own to sample at home!
Celebrate the mighty spud at Huble Homestead with games and crafts, music, tours, and demonstrations. Come early to buy heirloom potatoes, carrots, beets, and garlic from the Huble garden!
Watch and take part in heritage demonstrations such as ice cream making and cheesemaking both days, and be sure to check out the blacksmith shop. On Sunday learn about wool with Heimdall’s Reach, and on Monday learn about the pole lathe from SilverTree Woodworking.
Kick back and relax to live music, then revert back to your childhood by taking part in potato sack races, Hot Potato, or the potato and spoon race, and try your hand at potato stamping!
Play  lawn games, try out the stilts, and enjoy a fresh piece of pie in the General Store. The BBQ will be serving a pancake breakfast from 10 am to 12 pm, and from 12 pm to 4 pm, burgers and hot dogs will be on the menu. In addition to our regular menu, we’ll also be featuring a potato-y menu.
Browse the General Store and take 10% off all items!
