Ceepee and the Fish Camp

Chief Dolleen Logan & Huble Homestead’s Krystal Leason

The Huble Homestead children’s history book series now features four titles to spark historical imagination in little readers. Ceepee and the Fish Camp follows a young Lheidli girl and her family as they travel their territory, gathering food and resources throughout the seasons. The story incorporates Dakelh vocabulary words from Lheidli Elder Edith Frederick, and is brought to life by watercolour illustrations by Cliff Mann, featuring First Nations designs by Jennifer Pighin.

The book is now available for free to Lheidli T’enneh members through the Brunswick Street office, and will be for sale to the general public starting May 22 at Huble Homestead Historic Site, Books & Company and other museums throughout the region.
