Amanda Strong is a Michif artist who focuses on filmmaking, stop motion animation and moving image art. As the owner, director and producer of Spotted Fawn Productions Inc., she uses a multi-layered approach and unconventional methods that are centred in collaboration. The common themes of her work are reclamations of Indigenous histories, lineage, language and culture.

Amanda’s exhibition iskocîsa (little fires) opens at Two Rivers Gallery on October 23, 2020 and runs until the beginning of January. It focuses on the artistic process associated with stop motion animation. The films, along with the sets, props and puppets Amanda used in her videos will make visitors feel like they are in her studio, seeing everything come to life – frame by frame.
